Cruising

The cruising section of PYC was formed in the late seventies following suggestions from members who regularly cruised away the summer months that perhaps there should be a club section to promote and encourage members to participate with others in cruising both locally and further afield to the highland lochs and islands of Scotland.

In those early days cruising in company trips were organised to Islay, Rathlin and Ghia during the summer with a number of yachts and their crews participating.

Over the years interest has waned, not that members have stopped cruising far from it but they tend to cruise on their own.

Members boats have changed although there still is members with yachts that cruise there are also some members who have Ribs and Cruisers who also take trips to other shores.

With the first phase of the renovations now virtually complete with new facilities available we believe that the time is right to reinvigorate the cruising section and organise some trips this year.

Below are some photographs taken by members of places they have visited during the past few years to give you some idea of where we could go.

If you are interested in participating get in touch with the club.
